How do I reserve a table?
All reservations are made online. Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the practical details.

Giftcards
Gift cards are delivered directly to your inbox right after a purchase and can be printed and filled in at home.

I have a gift card — how do I book?
A deposit of 1,000 SEK per person is still required to confirm your reservation.

Your gift card is used as payment on the night.
If the value of the gift card plus deposit exceeds your bill, the remaining part of the deposit will be refunded after your visit. 

Can my gift card be used as payment in the Japanese Pagoda in Tivoli?
During the months November and December we will be doing a residency in the Japanese Pagoda in Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen. A Knystaforsen gift card can unfortunately not be used as payment for this special event.

How does the evening unfold? 
Your evening begins in our restaurant cocktail lounge, where you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink before being seated for dinner.

The full dinner lasts around four hours.

The menu
Our menu follows the seasons and the landscape around us. Much of the cooking happens over open fire, where smoke and embers give each dish its character.

Wine pairings
We offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings. Wines are mainly Nordic and European, while the non-alcoholic options are brewed in-house.

All pairings follow the same idea: to support and lift each dish.

What shall I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Dinner is enjoyed indoors, but from time to time we invite guests outside. For that reason, stilettos aren’t recommended.

Special diets
We serve a menu, built around the season and the way we cook over open fire. It’s meant to be enjoyed as a whole. We don’t adjust it to food trends or preferences — such as keto or low-carb — or to dislikes.

We can prepare pescatarian and vegetarian alternatives.

With advance notice, we can adjust for many common dietary restrictions — including gluten intolerance (but not gluten allergy).

Pregnancy is never a problem. We can always make a vegetarian menu or a menu without raw meat or fish.

We are not able to prepare vegan menus or menus without milk protein, and we’re not able to accommodate allergies to eggs, grains or wheat.

Can I bring a child?
Children are welcome from 11 years and older and are served the full tasting menu.

We are not able to accommodate babies and toddlers. 

Dog policy
Dogs are welcome as long as we’re informed before your visit.
Your dog may stay in your room if it can rest quietly on a blanket brought from home.

A cleaning fee of 750 SEK per dog applies.

Dogs are not allowed in the restaurant.

Can I bring my own wine?
No. According to Swedish law, guests may not bring their own wine or other alcoholic beverages.

Check in & boutique
In our Check in & Boutique in Torup, you’ll find a small collection of curated items from Knystaforsen.

Our shop is open for our guests during check-in hours (15.00-17.00)

For guests staying in Torup and Lahult we’ll arrange complimentary transfers to and from the restaurant.

Check-in is between 15.00-17.00. Check-out is at 10:00. 

Breakfast booking
Breakfast is handled exclusively by Fika by Steph, an artisan bakery next to Knystaforsen. You’ll find a breakfast booking link in your confirmation email.

Breakfast is not included in the room price and is paid directly at Fika by Steph.

It cannot be brought to or enjoyed at the hotel.

Lost and found
Forgotten belongings are kept for 14 days. After that, they will be disposed of. 

Transport and getting here

Can I park with you?

You can park in the lot behind Villa Knystaforsen just two minutes away from the restaurant. Drive past the villa, up the small hill, and you’ll see the Knystaforsen parking sign on the left.

Where can I charge an electric car?
The nearest charging station is at CBM Retail (between Knystaforsen and Knystaria). Use the Spirii Go app. The stations are unavailable on weekdays from 07:00–16:00. Additional charging is available by Coop in Torup and Hyltebruk.

Public transport
There are buses and trains to Torup from Halmstad and Jönköping.
From Torup, a connecting bus runs to Rydöbruk.

If you are staying overnight, we pick you up before dinner and drive you back afterwards.

How to book a taxi
The nearest local taxi service is Sennans Taxi. Booking in advance is necessary.

For travel to or from Halmstad, several companies operate — for example Tre Hjärtan, Jalla Jalla etc.

Which airports are closest?
The nearest international airports are Gothenburg, Malmö, Växjö and Copenhagen (1.5–2 hours away).

Halmstad airport is 45 minutes away, with connections to Stockholm. 

Campervan parking
Yes. We have a few parking spaces reserved for guests who stay in their own mobile homes.

Simply book a table without a room and follow the instructions in your confirmation email.

Please note: our parking does not provide electricity or other amenities.

Rydö Golf Club offers a nearby campsite with facilities.

Is camping an option?
Swedish nature offers many places to pitch a tent. Under “Allemansrätten”, you may camp in nature as long as you do not disturb or damage anything.

We do not offer camping on our property.

Nearby walking and biking routes
We are close to the walking route Hallandsleden and the cycling route Hylteslingan.

Cancellations and changes

Booking confirmation
Your reservation is confirmed once the deposit of 1,000 SEK per person has been received.

Can I change my booking?
You may move your booking to a new date up to 5 days before your visit. After that, a new deposit is required. 

Cancellations
The deposit is non-refundable. This is, unfortunately, regardless of the reason. 

Why is the deposit non-refundable?
Your deposit reserves your table for the evening. A cancellation often comes too late for others to take the spot and last-minute openings are not always possible to fill, even with a waiting list.
